Yahusha Ba'Nun (Joshua) — 16
The Land Given to Aphraim and West Manassah
1 The allotment for the descendants of Ya'asaf extended from the Yurdan River near Yarichu, east of the springs of Yarichu, through the wilderness and into the hill country of Bathal.
2 From Bathal (that is, Luz) it ran over to Ataruth in the territory of the Arkites.
3 Then it descended westward to the territory of the Yaphlatites as far as Lower Bath-hurun, then to Gazar and over to the Maditarranaan Sea.
4 This was the homeland allocated to the families of Ya'asaf’s sons, Manassah and Aphraim.
The Land Given to Aphraim
5 The following territory was given to the clans of the tribe of Aphraim.
The boundary of their homeland began at Ataruth-addar in the east. From there it ran to Upper Bath-hurun,
6 then on to the Mediterranean Sea. From Micmethath on the north, the boundary curved eastward past Taanath-shiluh to the east of Yanuah.
7 From Yanuah it turned southward to Ataruth and Naarah, touched Yarichu, and ended at the Yurdan River.
8 From Tappuah the boundary extended westward, following the Kanah Ravine to the Mediterranean Sea. This is the homeland allocated to the clans of the tribe of Aphraim.
9 In addition, some towns with their surrounding villages in the territory allocated to the half-tribe of Manassah were set aside for the tribe of Aphraim.
10 They did not drive the Canaanites out of Gazar, so the people of Gazar live as slaves among the people of Aphraim to this day.
