Dabarym (Deuteronomy) — 5

The Ten Commandments Reviewed

1 And Musha called all Yashar'AL, and said to them: “Hear, O Yashar'AL, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your hearing today, that you may learn them and be careful to observe them.

2 For 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH our 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH  made a covenant with us in Hurab.

3 For 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, those who are here today, all of us who are alive.

4 For 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH talked with you face to face on the mountain from the midst of the fire.

5 I stood between 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH and you at that time, to declare to you the Dabar of  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH; for you were afraid because of the fire, and you did not go up the mountain. And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH Dabar:

                      1st Commandment

6 I AM 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH your  𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH who brought you out of the land of Mitzraym, out of the house of bondage. 7 ‘You must not have and serve other aluahym (mighty ones) before Me.

                     2nd Commandment

8 ‘You must not make for yourself a carved image any likeness of anything that is in Shamaym above, or that is in the Arath beneath, or that is in the water under the Arath; 9 you must not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH  your 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH, I AM a jealous  𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 10 But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commandments.

                       3rd Commandment

11 “You must not misuse the Name of  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH your 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH.  For 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH will not let you go unpunished if you misuse his Name.

                      4th Commandment

12 Remember to observe the Shabbat day by keeping it Set Apart, for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH your 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH  has commanded you. 13 That you have six days each week for your ordinary work, 14 but the seventh day is a Shabbat day of rest dedicated to  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH  your 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH. On that day no one in your household may do any work. This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your oxen and donkeys and other livestock, and any foreigners living among you. All your male and female servants must rest as you do. 15 Remember that you were once slaves in Mitzraym, but 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH your  𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH  brought you out with his strong hand and powerful arm. That is why  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH your 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH has commanded you to rest on the Shabbat day.

                     5th Commandment

16 “Honor your father and your mother, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH your 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH commanded you. Then you will live a long, full life in the land 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH your 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH has giving you..

       6th Commandment

17 “You must not murder.

       7th Commandment

18 “You must not commit adultery.

        8th Commandment

19 “You must not steal.

        9th Commandment

20 “You must not testify falsely against your neighbor.

              10th Commandment

21 “You must not covet your neighbor’s wife. You must not covet your neighbor’s house or land, male or female servant, ox or donkey, or anything else that belongs to your neighbor.

22 “Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH Dabar these words to all of you assembled there at the foot of the mountain. 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH  Dabar with a loud voice from the heart of the fire, surrounded by clouds and deep darkness. This was all 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH said at that time, and he wrote HIS Dabarym (words) on two stone tablets and gave them to me.

23 “But when you heard the voice from the heart of the darkness, while the mountain was blazing with fire, all your tribal leaders and elders came to me.

24 They said, ‘Look, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH our  𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH has shown us HIS Kabad and greatness, and we have heard HIS voice from the heart of the fire. Today we have seen that 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH can speak to us, and yet we live!

25 But now, why should we risk death again? If 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH our  𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH Dabar to us again, we will certainly die and be consumed by this awesome fire.

26 Can any living thing hear the voice of the living 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH from the heart of the fire as we did and yet survive?

27 Go yourself and listen to what  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH our 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH Dabar. Then come and tell us everything he tells you, and we will listen and obey.’

28 “Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH heard the request you made to me. And HE said, ‘I have heard what the people said to you, and they are right.

29 Oh, that they would always have hearts like this, that they might fear ME and obey all My commandments! If they did, they and their descendants would prosper forever.

30 Go and tell them, “Return to your tents.”

31 But you Musha stand here with ME so I can give you all my Commandments, decrees, and regulations. You must teach them to the people so they can obey them in the land I am giving them as their possession.’”

32 So Musha told the people, “You must be careful to obey all the Commandments of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH your 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH, following His instructions in every detail.

33 Stay on the path that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH  your 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH has commanded you to follow. Then you will live long and prosperous lives in the land you are about to enter and occupy.
