Shuphatym (Judges) — 2

YAHUAH’s Messenger Comes to Bukim

1 The Malak of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH went up from Gilgal to Bukim and said to the Yasharalym, “I brought you out of Mitzraym into this land that I swore to give your ancestors, and I said, I would never break my covenant with you. 

2 For your part, you were not to make any covenants with the people living in this land; instead, you were to destroy their altars. But you disobeyed my command. Why did you do this? 

3 So now I declare that I will no longer drive out the people living in your land. They will be thorns in your sides, and their idols will be a constant temptation to you.”

4 When the Malak of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH finished speaking to all the Yasharalym, the people wept loudly. 

5 So they called the place Bukim (which means “weeping”), and they offered sacrifices there to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH.

The Death of Yahusha Ba'Nun 

6 After Yahusha Ba'Nun sent the people away, each of the tribes left to take possession of the land allotted to them. 

7 And the Yasharalym served 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH  throughout the lifetime of Yahusha and the leaders who outlived him, those who had seen all the great things 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH had done for Yashar'AL.

8 Yahusha Ba'Nun (son of Nun), the servant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, died at the age of one hundred and ten years. 

9 They buried him in the land he had been allocated, at Timnath-sarah in the hill country of Aphraim, north of Mount Gaash.

Yashar'AL Disobeys YAHUAH

10 After that generation died, another generation grew up who did not acknowledge  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH or remember the mighty things 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH had done for Yashar'AL.

11 The Yasharalym did evil in the sight of  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, and served the images of Baal. 

12 They abandoned 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, the  𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH of their ancestors, who had brought them out of Mitzraym. They went after other nations idols, worshiping the idols of the people around them, and they angered  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH. 

13 They abandoned 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH to serve Baal and the images of Ashturath. 

14 This made 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH burn with anger against Yashar'AL, so 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH handed them over to raiders who stole their possessions, he turned them over to their enemies all around, and they were no longer able to resist them. 

15 Every time Yashar'AL went out to battle,  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH fought against them, causing them to be defeated, just as he had warned, and the people were in great distress.

YAHUAH Rescues His People

16 Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH raised up Shuphatym (judges) to rescue the Yasharalym from their attackers. 

17 Yet Yashar'AL did not listen to the judges but prostituted themselves by worshiping other nations idols. How quickly they turned away from the path of their ancestors, who had walked in obedience to the commands of  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH.

18 Whenever 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH raised up a Shuphatym (judge) over Yashar'AL, he was with that shuphatym and rescued the people from their enemies throughout the judge’s lifetime. For 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH took pity on his people, who were burdened by oppression and suffering. 

19 But when the judge died, the people returned to their corrupt ways, behaving worse than those who had lived before them. They went after other nations pagan idols, serving and worshiping them, and they refused to give up their evil practices and stubborn ways.

20 So 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH burned with anger against Yashar'AL. 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH Dabar, “Because these people have violated my covenant, which I made with their ancestors, and have ignored my commands, 

21 I will no longer drive out the nations that Yahusha Ba'Nun left unconquered when he died. 

22 I did this to test Yashar'AL, to see whether or not they would follow the ways of  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH as their ancestors did.” 

23 That is why 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH left those nations in place. 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH did not quickly drive them out or allow Yahusha Ba'Nun to conquer them all.
