Yahusha Ba'Nun (Joshua) — 3

The Yasharalym Cross the Yurdan

Early the next morning Yahusha Ba'Nun and all the Yasharalym left Acacia Grove and arrived at the banks of the Yurdan River, where they camped before crossing.

Three days later the Yasharalym officers went through the camp,

giving these instructions to the people: “When you see the Lauym and Kuhanym (priests) carrying the Ark of the Covenant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH your 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH, move out from your positions and follow them.

Since you have never traveled this way before, they will guide you. Stay about half a mile behind them, keeping a clear distance between you and the Ark. Make sure you do not come any closer.”

Then Yahusha told the people, “Purify yourselves, for tomorrow 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH will do great wonders among you.”

In the morning Yahusha Ba'Nun said to the Kuhanym, “Lift up the Ark of the Covenant and lead the people across the river.” And so they started out and went ahead of the people.

Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH Dabar to Yahusha, “Today I will begin to make you a great leader in the eyes of all the Yasharalym. They will know that I am with you, just as I was with Musha.

Give this command to the Kuhanym who carry the Ark of the Covenant: ‘When you reach the banks of the Yurdan River, take a few steps into the river and stop there.’”

So Yahusha told the Yasharalym, “Come and listen to what 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH your  𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH has Dabar.

10 Today you will know that the living  𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH is among you. He will surely drive out the Canaanites, Hittites, Hibites, Parizzites, Girgashites, Amurites, and Yabusites ahead of you.

11 Look, the Ark of the Covenant, which belongs to the 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH of the whole Arath, will lead you across the Yurdan River!

12 Now choose twelve men from the tribes of Yashar'AL, one from each tribe.

13 The Kuhanym will carry the Ark of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH the 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH of all the Arath. As soon as their feet touch the water, the flow of water will be cut off upstream, and the river will stand up like a wall.”

14 So the people left their camp to cross the Yurdan, and the Kuhanym who were carrying the Ark of the Covenant went ahead of them.

15 It was the harvest season, and the Yurdan river was overflowing its banks. But as soon as the feet of the Kuhanym who were carrying the Ark touched the water at the river’s edge,

16 the water above that point began backing up a great distance away at a town called Adam, which is near Zarathan, and the water below that point flowed on to the Dead Sea until the river channel was dry. Then all the people crossed over near the town of Yarichu.

17 Meanwhile, the Kuhanym who were carrying the Ark of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH’s Covenant stood on dry ground in the middle of the river channel as the people passed by. They waited there until the whole nation of Yashar'AL had crossed the Yurdan on dry ground.
