MattatYahu (Matthew) — 17

The Transfiguration

1 Six days later 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA took Kafa and the two brothers, Ya'aqub and Yahukanun, and led them up a high mountain to be alone.
As they watched 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA,  they noticed His appearance was transformed, and the face of  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA was shining like the sun, and His clothes became as white as light.
Suddenly, Musha and AliYahu appeared and began talking with 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA.
Kafa exclaimed, “Master, it is wonderful for us to be here! If you want, I will make three shelters as memorials one for you, one for Musha, and one for AliYahu.”
But even as Kafa spoke, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy. Listen to him.”
The Talmidym were terrified and fell face down on the ground.
Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA came over and touched them and said. “Get up, Do not be afraid.”
And when they looked up, Musha and AliYahu were gone, and they saw only  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA.
As they went back down the mountain, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA commanded them, “Do not tell anyone what you have seen until the Son of Adam has been raised from the dead.”
10 Then They asked 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA, “Why do the teachers of religious law insist that AliYahu must return before Ha'Mashyach comes?”
11 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA replied, “AliYahu is indeed coming first to get everything ready.
12 But I tell you, AliYahu has already come, but he was not recognized, and they chose to abuse him. Likewise they will also make the Son of Adam suffer.”
13 Then the Talmidym realized  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA was talking about Yahukanun the Baptist.

YAHUSHA Heals a Demon-Possessed Boy

14 At the foot of the mountain, a large crowd was waiting for them. A man    came and knelt before  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA and said,
15 “Master, have mercy on my son, he has seizures and suffers terribly, he often falls into the fire or into the water.
16 So I brought him to your Talmidym, but they could not heal him.”
17 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA said, “You faithless and corrupt people! How long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me.”
18 Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA rebuked the demon in the boy, and it left him. From that moment the boy was well.
19 Afterward the Talmidym asked  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA privately, “Why could we not cast out that demon?”
20 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA told them. “You do not have enough Amunah (faith),” I tell you the truth, if you had Amunah even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”
21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

YAHUSHA Again Predicts His Death

22 After they gathered again in Galily,  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA told them, “The Son of Adam is going to be betrayed into the hands of his enemies.
23 He will be killed, but on the third day he will be raised from the dead.” And the Talmidym were filled with grief.

Payment of the Temple Tax

24 On their arrival in Capernaum, the collectors of the Temple tax came to Kafa and asked him, “Does your teacher not pay the Temple tax?”
25 “Yes, he does,” Kafa replied. Then Kafa went into the house. But before Kafa had a chance to speak,  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA asked him, “What do you think Kafa? Do kings tax their own people or the people they have conquered?”
26 Kafa said, They tax the people they have conquered, and 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA said  “Well, then, “the citizens are free!
27 Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a piece of money; take that and give it to them for Me and you.”
