1st Kafa (1 Peter) — 2
1 So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech.
2 Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into the full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment,
3 Now that you have had a taste of the kindness of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH.
Living Stones for YAHUAH’s House
4 You are coming to Ha'Mashyach, who is the living cornerstone of the Temple of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH. Ha'Mashyach was rejected by people, but He was chosen by 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH for great Honor.
5 And you also are living stones that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH is building into the Temple of HIS Ruach. What’s more, you are 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH Qadash Kuhanym. Through the mediation of Ha'Mashyach, you offer the sacrifices of the RUACH that please 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH.
6 As the Scriptures say, “I am placing a cornerstone in Yahushalam, chosen for great honor, and anyone who trusts in Him will never be dishonored.”
7 Yes, you who trust Ha'Mashyach recognize the honor 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH has given Him. But for those who reject Ha'Mashyach, “The stone that the builders rejected has now become the chief cornerstone.
8 And, “Ha'Mashyach is the stone that makes men stumble, the rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they do not obey the Dabar of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, and so they meet the destiny that was planned for them.
9 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal Kuhanym, a Qadash nation, the very own possession of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH. As a result, you can show others the goodness of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, For 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH called you out of the darkness into HIS marvelous Light.
10 “In the past you had no identity as a people; but now you are the people of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH. In the past you received no mercy; but now you have received the mercy of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH.”
11 Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls.
12 Be careful and live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH when HE judges the world.
Respecting People in Authority
13 For the sake of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, submit to all governing authority, whether the king as head of state,
14 Or the officials he has appointed. For the king has sent them to punish those who do wrong and to honor those who do right.
15 It is the Will of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you.
16 For you are free, yet you are the servant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, so do not use your freedom as an excuse to do evil.
17 Respect everyone, and love the family of believers. Fear 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, and respect the king.
18 You who are servants must submit to your masters with all respect. Do what they tell you, not only if they are kind and reasonable, but even if they are cruel.
19 For this is commendable, because of your conscience toward 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH one endures grief, suffering wrongfully.
20 Of course, you get no credit for being patient if you are beaten for doing wrong. But if you suffer for doing good and endure it patiently, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH is pleased with you.
21 For 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Ha'Mashyach suffered for you. For Ha'Mashyach is your example, and you must follow in Ha'Mashyach's steps.
22 Ha'Mashyach never sinned, nor ever deceived anyone.
23 Ha'Mashyach did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. Ha'Mashyach left his case in the hands of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, who always judges fairly.
24 Ha'Mashyach personally carried our sins in His body on the execution stake, so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right, by the wounds of Ha'Mashyach you are healed.
25 Once you were like sheep who wandered away. But now you have turned to your Shepherd, the Guardian of your souls.
