Malchizadak Is Greater Than Abraham
1 This Malchizadak was king of the city of Shalum and also a Kuhan of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH AL'ALYUN. When Abraham was returning home after winning a great battle against the kings, Malchizadak met him and baraked him.
2 Then Abraham took a tenth of all he had captured in battle and gave it to Malchizadak. The name Malchizadak means “king of justice,” and king of Shalum means “king of Shalum.”
3 Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, he remains a Kuhan continually.
4 Consider then how great this Malchizadak was. Even Abraham, the great patriarch of Yashar'AL, recognized this by giving him a tenth of what he had taken in battle.
5 Now the law of Musha required that the Kuhan, who are descendants of Lauy, must collect a tithe from the rest of the people of Yashar'AL, who are also descendants of Abraham.
6 But Malchizadak, who was not a descendant of Lauy, collected a tenth from Abraham. And Malchizadak placed a Barakah upon Abraham, the one who had already received the promises of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH.
7 And without question, the person who has the power to give a Barakah is greater than the one who is Baraked.
8 The Kuhanym who collect tithes are men who die, so Malchizadak is greater than they are, because we are told that he lives on.
9 In addition, we might even say that these Lauym, the ones who collect the tithe paid a tithe to Malchizadak when their ancestor Abraham paid a tithe to him.
10 For although Lauy was not born yet, the seed from which he came was in Abraham’s body when Malchizadak collected the tithe from Abraham.
11 So if the Kuhanhood of Lauy, on which the law was based, could have achieved the perfection 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH intended, why did 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH need to establish a different Kuhanhood, with a Kuhan in the order of Malchizadak instead of the order of Lauy and Aarun?
12 And if the Kuhanhood is changed, the law must also be changed to permit it.
13 For the Kuhan we are talking about belongs to a different tribe, whose members have never served at the altar as Kuhanym.
14 What I mean is, our MASTER came from the tribe of Yahudah, and Musha never mentioned Kuhanym coming from that tribe.
15 This change has been made very clear since a different Kuhan, who is like Malchizadak, has appeared.
16 For 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA became a Kuhan, not by meeting the physical requirement of belonging to the tribe of Lauy, but by the power of a life that cannot be destroyed.
17 And the Tahalym pointed this out when he prophesied, “You are a Kuhan forever in the order of Malchizadak.”
18 Yes, the old requirement about the Kuhanhood was set aside because it was weak and useless.
19 For the Turah never made anything perfect. But now we have confidence in a better hope, through which we draw near to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH.
20 This new system was established with a solemn oath. Aarun’s descendants became Kuhanym without such an oath,
21 but there was an oath regarding 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA. For 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH said to Him, “I have taken an oath and will not break the vow: ‘You are a Kuhan forever.’”
22 Because of this oath, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA is the one who guarantees this better covenant with 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH.
23 There were many Kuhanym under the old system, for death prevented them from remaining in office.
24 But because 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA lives forever, His Kuhanhood lasts forever.
25 Therefore 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA is able, once and forever, to save those who come to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH through Him. 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA lives forever to intercede with 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH on their behalf.
26 Ha'Mashyach is the kind of high Kuhan we need because He is Qadash and blameless, unstained by sin. He has been set apart from sinners and has been given the highest place of honor in Shamaym.
27 Unlike those other high Kuhanym, Ha'Mashyach does not need to offer sacrifices every day. They did this for their own sins first and then for the sins of the people. But 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA did this once for all when he offered Himself as the sacrifice for the sins of everyone.
28 The law appointed high Kuhanym who were limited by man's weakness. But after the law was given, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH appointed HIS Son with an oath, and HIS Son has been made the perfect High Kuhan forever.
