Ma'ashym (Acts) — 6
Seven Men Chosen to Serve
Now as the believers rapidly multiplied, there were rumblings of discontent. The Greek-speaking believers complained about the Hebrew-speaking believers, saying that their widows were being discriminated against in the daily distribution of food.
So the Twelve Shaliachs called a meeting of all the believers. They said, “We Shaliachs should spend our time teaching the Dabar of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, not running a food program.
And so, brothers, select seven men who are well respected and are full of the RUACH and wisdom. We will give them this responsibility.
Then we Shaliachs can spend our time in prayer and teaching the Dabar.”
Everyone liked this idea, and they chose the following: Staphan (a man full of Amunah and the RUACH Ha'Qadash), Philip, Procorus, Nicanur, Timun, Parmanas, and Niculas of Antiuch (an earlier convert to the Yahudym faith).
These seven were presented to the Shaliachs, who prayed for them as they laid their hands on them.
So 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH’s message continued to spread. The number of believers greatly increased in Yahushalam, and many of the Yahudym Kuhanym were converted, too.
Staphan Is Arrested
Staphan, a man full of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH’s Kabad and power, performed amazing miracles and signs among the people.
But one day some men from the congregation of Freed Slaves, as it was called, started to debate with him. They were Yahudym from Cyrana, Alexandria, Cilicia, and the province of Asia.
None of them could stand against the wisdom and the RUACH with which Staphan spoke.
So they persuaded some men to lie about Staphan, saying, “We heard him blaspheme Musha, and even 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH.”
This roused the people, the elders, and the teachers of religious law. So they arrested Staphan and brought him before the high council.
The lying witnesses said, “This man is always speaking against the Qadash Temple and against the law of Musha.
We have heard him say that this 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA of Nazarym will destroy the Temple and change the customs Musha handed down to us.”
At this point everyone in the high council stared at Staphan, because his face became as bright as a Malak.
