Luqas (Luke) — 10
YAHUSHA Sends Out His Talmidym
1 Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA chose seventy other Talmidym and sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places He planned to visit.
2 These were 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA‘s instructions to them: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH who is in charge of the harvest; ask 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH to send more workers into His fields.
3 Now go, and remember that I am sending you out as lambs among wolves.
4 Do not take any money with you, nor a traveler’s bag, nor an extra pair of sandals. And do not stop to greet anyone on the road.
5 “Whenever you enter someone’s home, first say, ‘May 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH’s Shalum be on this house.’
6 If those who live there are in Shalum, the Barakah will stand; if they are not, the Barakah will return to you.
7 Do not move around from home to home. Stay in one place, eat and drink what they provide. Do not hesitate to accept hospitality, because those who work deserve their pay.
8 “If you enter a town and it welcomes you, eat whatever is set before you.
9 Heal the sick, and tell them, ‘The Kingdom of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH is near you now.’
10 But if a town refuses to welcome you, go out into its streets and say,
11 ‘We wipe even the dust of your town from our feet to show that we have abandoned you to your fate. But Nevertheless know this today, the Kingdom of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH is near!’
12 I assure you, even wicked Sudum will be better off than such a town on judgment day.
13 “What sorrow awaits you, Kurazin and Bathsaida! For if the miracles I did in you had been done in wicked Tyra and Sidun, their people would have repented of their sins long ago, clothing themselves in burlap and throwing ashes on their heads to show their remorse.
14 Yes, Tyra and Sidun will be better off on judgment day than you.
15 And you people of Capernaum, will you be honored in Shamaym? No, you will go down to the place of the dead.”
16 Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA said to the Talmidym, “Anyone who accepts your message, has also accepted me. And anyone who rejects you, has rejected me. And anyone who rejects me is rejecting 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, who sent me.”
17 When the seventy-two Talmidym returned, they joyfully reported to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA, “Master, even the demons obey us when we use your Name!”
18 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA told them, “Yes, “I saw ha'shatan fall from Shamaym like lightning!
19 Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.
20 But do not rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in Shamaym.”
YAHUSHA’s Prayer of Thanksgiving
21 At that same time 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA was filled with the joy of the RUACH Ha'Qadash, and He said, “O ABBA, the 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH of Shamaym and Arath, Tudah Rabah (thank you) for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes, ABBA, it pleased you to do it this way.
22 “My ABBA has entrusted everything to Me, no one truly knows the Son except ABBA, and no one truly knows ABBA except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal ABBA to.”
23 Then when they were alone, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA turned to the Talmidym and said, “Baraked are the eyes that see what you have seen.
24 I tell you, many Nabyms and kings longed to see what you see, but they did not see it. And they longed to hear what you hear, but they did not hear it.”
The Most Important Commandment
25 One day an expert in religious law stood up to test 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA by asking Him this question: “Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?”
26 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA replied, “What does the law say? How do you read it?”
27 The man answered, “‘You must love 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH your 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
28 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA told him. “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.”
29 The man wanted to justify his actions, so he asked 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA, “And who is my neighbor?”
Parable of the Good Samaritan
30 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA replied with a story: “A Yahudym man was traveling from Yahushalam down to Yarichu, and he was attacked by bandits. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him up, and left him half dead beside the road.
31 “By chance a Kuhan came along. But when he saw the man lying there, the Kuhan crossed to the other side of the road and left the half dead Yahudym man without helping him.
32 A Temple assistant walked over and looked at him lying there, but he also passed by on the other side.
33 “Then a despised Samaritan came along, and when he saw the man, he felt compassion for him.
34 Going over to him, the Samaritan soothed his wounds with olive oil and wine and bandaged them. Then he put the man on his own donkey and took him to an inn, where he took care of him.
35 The next day the Samaritan man handed the innkeeper two silver coins, telling him, ‘Take care of this man. If his bill runs higher than this, I will pay you the next time I am here.’
36 “Now which of these three would you say was a neighbor to the man who was attacked by bandits?”
37 The man replied, “The one who showed him mercy.” Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA said, “Yes, now go and do the same.”
YAHUSHA Visits Martha and Maryam
38 As 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA and the Talmidym continued on their way to Yahushalam, they came to a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA into her home.
39 Her sister, Maryam, sat at the Master’s feet, listening to what 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA taught.
40 But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA and said, “Master, does it not seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.”
41 But 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA said to her, “Martha Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details!
42 There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Maryam has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”
