Luqas (Luke) — 2
The Birth of YAHUSHA
1 At that time the Roman emperor, Augustus, decreed that a census should be taken throughout the Roman Empire. 2 (This was the first census taken when Quirinius was governor of Syria.)
3 All returned to their own ancestral towns to register for this census.
4 And because Ya'asaf was a descendant of King Daud, he had to go to Bathlaham in Yahudah, Daud’s ancient home. He traveled there from the village of Nazarath in Galily.
5 Ya'asaf took with him Maryam, his fiancée, who was now obviously pregnant.
6 And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born.
7 She gave birth to her first child, a son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.
The Shepherds and Malakym
8 That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep.
9 Suddenly, a Malak of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH appeared among them, and the radiance of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH’s Kabad surrounded them. They were terrified,
10 But the Malak reassured them. “Do not be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.
11 The Savior yes, Ha'Mashyach has been born today in Bathlaham, the city of Daud!
12 And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly, the Malak was joined by a vast host of other Malakym the armies of Shamaym Yadahym 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH and saying,
14 “Kabad to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH in highest Shamaym, and Shalum on Arath to those with whom 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH is pleased.”
15 When the Malakym had returned to Shamaym, the shepherds said to each other, “Let us go to Bathlaham! Let us see this thing that has happened, which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH has told us about.”
16 They hurried to the village and found Maryam and Ya'asaf. And there was the baby, lying in the manger.
17 After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the Malak had said to them about this child.
18 All who heard the shepherd's story were astonished,
19 but Maryam kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often.
20 The shepherds went back to their flocks, joyfully and they Yadah 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH for all they had heard and seen. It was just as the Malak had told them.
YAHUSHA Is Presented in the Temple
21 Eight days later, when the baby was circumcised, he was named 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA, the name given him by the Malak Gabri'AL who appeared to Maryam even before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA was conceived.
22 Then it was time for their purification offering, as required by the law of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH through Musha after the birth of a child; so his parents took 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA to Yahushalam to present 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH.
23 The law of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH says, “If a woman’s first child is a boy, he must be dedicated to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH.”
24 So they offered the sacrifice required in the law of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, “either a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.”
The Prophecy of Simaun
25 At that time there was a man in Yahushalam named Simaun, he was righteous and devout and was eagerly waiting for Ha'Mashyach to come and rescue Yashar'AL, the RUACH Ha'Qadash was upon him
26 And had revealed to him that he would not die until he had seen Ha'Mashyach.
27 That day the RUACH led him to the Temple. So when Maryam and Ya'asaf came to present the baby 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH as the law required,
28 Simaun was there. He took the child in his arms and Yadah 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, saying,
29 “O 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH Tsaba'ut, now let your servant die in Shalum, as you have promised.
30 I have seen your salvation,
31 Which you have prepared for all men.
32 He is a light to reveal 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH to the nations, and he is the Kabad of your people Yashar'AL!”
33 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA’s parents were amazed at what was being said about 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA.
34 Then Simaun baraked them, and he said to Maryam, the baby’s mother, “This child is destined to cause many in Yashar'AL to fall, but he will be a joy to many others. He has been sent as a sign from 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, but many will oppose him.
35 As a result, the deepest thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your very soul.”
The Prophecy of Anna
36 Anna, a Nabym, was also there in the Temple. She was the daughter of Phanual from the tribe of Ashar, and she was very old. Her husband died when they had been married only seven years.
37 Then she lived as a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the Temple but stayed there day and night, worshiping 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH with fasting and prayer.
38 She came along just as Simaun was talking with Maryam and Ya'asaf, and she began to Yadah 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH. She talked about the child to everyone who had been waiting expectantly for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH to rescue Yahushalam.
39 When 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA’s parents had fulfilled all the requirements of the law of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, they returned home to Nazarath in Galily.
40 There the child grew up healthy and strong. 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA was filled with wisdom, and 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH’s favor was on him.
YAHUSHA Speaks with the Teachers
41 Every year 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA’s parents went to Yahushalam for the Passakh festival.
42 When 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA was twelve years old, they attended the festival as usual.
43 After the celebration was over, they started going home to Nazarath, but 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA stayed behind in Yahushalam. His parents did not miss him at first,
44 because they assumed he was among the other travelers. But when he did not show up that evening, they started looking for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA among their relatives and friends.
45 When they could not find him, they went back to Yahushalam to search for him there.
46 Three days later they finally discovered 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA in the Temple, sitting among the religious teachers, listening to them and asking questions.
47 All who heard 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA were amazed at his understanding and his answers.
48 For his parents did not know what to think. “Son,” his mother said to him, “why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been frantic, searching for you everywhere.”
49 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA asked. “But why did you need to search? “Did you not know that I must be in my ABBA’s house?”
50 But they did not understand what 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA meant.
51 Then he returned to Nazarath with them and was obedient to them. And his mother stored all these things in her heart.
52 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH and all the people.
