YAHUSHA Heals a Paralyzed Man
When 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA returned to Capernaum several days later, the news spread quickly that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA was back home.
Soon the house where he was staying was so packed with visitors that there was no more room, even outside the door. While he was preaching 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH’s Dabar to them,
four men arrived carrying a paralyzed man on a mat.
They could not bring him to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA because of the crowd, so they dug a hole through the roof above 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA's head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA.
Seeing their Amunah, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA said to the paralyzed man, “My child, your sins are forgiven.”
But some of the teachers of religious law who were sitting there thought to themselves,
“What is 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA saying? This is blasphemy! Only 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH can forgive sins!”
For 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA knew immediately what they were thinking, so 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA asked them, “Why do you question this in your hearts?
Is it easier to say to the paralyzed man ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or ‘Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk’?
So I will prove to you that the Son of Adam has the authority on Arath to forgive sins.” Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA turned to the paralyzed man and said,
“Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!”
And the man jumped up, grabbed his mat, and walked out in the presence of them all, they were all amazed and they Yadah 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, exclaiming, We have never seen anything like this before!
YAHUSHA Calls Lauy (Mattatyahu)
Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA went out to the lakeshore again and taught the crowds that were coming to Him.
As 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA walked along, He saw Lauy son of Alphaus sitting at his tax collector’s booth. “Follow Me and be My Talmid,” 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA said to him. So Lauy got up and followed him.
Later, Lauy invited 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA and His Talmidym to his home as dinner guests, along with many tax collectors and other disreputable sinners. (There were many people of this kind among 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA’s followers.)
But when the teachers of religious law who were Pharisees saw 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA eating with tax collectors and other sinners, they asked His Talmidym, “Why does He eat with such scum?”
When 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA heard this, He told them, “Healthy people do not need a doctor, sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”
A Discussion about Fasting
Once when Yahukanun’s followers and the Pharisees were fasting, some people came to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA and asked, “Why do your Talmidym not fast like Yahukanun’s followers and the Pharisees do?”
And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA replied, “Do wedding guests fast while celebrating with the groom? Of course not. They cannot fast while the groom is with them.
But someday the groom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.
“Besides, who would patch old clothing with new cloth? For the new patch would shrink and rip away from the old cloth, leaving an even bigger tear than before.
“And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the wine would burst the wineskins, and the wine and the skins would both be lost. New wine calls for new wineskins.”
A Discussion about the Shabbat
One Shabbat day as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA was walking through some grainfields, and His Talmidym began breaking off heads of grain to eat.
And the Pharisees said to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA, “Look, why are they breaking the law by harvesting grain on the Shabbat?”
And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA said to them, Have you not ever read in the Scriptures what Daud did when he and his companions were hungry?
He went into the house of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH (during the days when Abiathar was high Kuhan) and broke the law by eating the sacred loaves of bread that only the Kuhanym are allowed to eat. He also gave some to his companions.”
Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA said to them, The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Shabbat.
Therefore the Son of Adam is also High Kuhan of the Shabbat.”
