Naham'Yahu (Nehemiah) — 11
The People Dwelling in Yahushalam
1 Now the leaders of the people dwelt at Yahushalam; the rest of the people cast lots to bring one out of ten to dwell in Yahushalam, the qadash city, and nine-tenths were to dwell in other cities.
2 And the people Baraked all the men who willingly offered themselves to dwell at Yahushalam.
3 These are the heads of the province who dwelt in Yahushalam. (But in the cities of Yahudah everyone dwelt in his own possession in their cities, Yasharalym, Kuhanym, Lauym, Nathinim, and descendants of Shalumah’s servants.)
4 Also in Yahushalam dwelt some of the children of Yahudah and of the children of Banyamin. The children of Yahudah: Athayahu the son of Uzzyahu, the son of Zacharyahu, the son of Amaryahu, the son of Shaphatyahu, the son of Mahalalal, of the children of Paraz;
5 and Maasayahu the son of Baruch, the son of Cul-Huzah, the son of Hazayahu, the son of Adayahu, the son of Yuiarib, the son of Zacharyahu, the son of Shiluni.
6 All the sons of Paraz who dwelt at Yahushalam were four hundred and sixty-eight valiant men.
7 And these are the sons of Banyamin: Sallu the son of Mashullam, the son of Yuad, the son of Padayahu, the son of Kulayahu, the son of Maasayahu, the son of Ithial, the son of Yashayahu;
8 and after him Gabbai and Sallai, nine hundred and twenty-eight.
9 Yual the son of Zichri was their overseer, and Yahudah the son of Sanuah was second over the city.
10 Of the Kuhanym: Yadayahu the son of Yuiarib, and Yachin;
11 Sarayahu the son of Hilkyahu, the son of Mashullam, the son of Zaduk, the son of Maraiuth, the son of Ahitub, was the leader of the house of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH.
12 Their brethren who did the work of the house were eight hundred and twenty-two; and Adayahu the son of Yaruham, the son of Palayahu, the son of Amzi, the son of Zacharyahu, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchiyahu,
13 and his brethren, heads of the fathers’ houses, were two hundred and forty-two; and Amashai the son of Azaral, the son of Ahzai, the son of Mashillamuth, the son of Immar,
14 and their brethren, mighty men of valor, were one hundred and twenty-eight. Their overseer was Zabdial the son of one of the great men.
15 Also of the Lauym: Shamayahu the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabyahu, the son of Bunni;
16 Shabbathai and Yuzabad, of the heads of the Lauym, had the oversight of the business outside of the house of 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH;
17 Mattanyahu the son of Micha, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph, the leader who began the thanksgiving with prayer; Bakbukyahu, the second among his brethren; and Abda the son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Yaduthun.
18 All the Lauym in the qadash city were two hundred and eighty-four.
19 Moreover the gatekeepers, Akkub, Talmun, and their brethren who kept the gates, were one hundred and seventy-two.
20 And the rest of Yashar'AL, of the Kuhanym and Lauym, were in all the cities of Yahudah, everyone in his inheritance.
21 But the Naahinim dwelt in Uphal. And Ziha and Gishpa were over the Nathinim.
22 Also the overseer of the Lauym at Yahushalam was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabyahu, the son of Mattanyahu, the son of Micha, of the sons of Asaph, the singers in charge of the service of the house of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH.
23 For it was the king’s command concerning them that a certain portion should be for the singers, a quota day by day.
24 Pathahyahu the son of Mashazabal, of the children of Zarah the son of Yahudah, was the king’s deputy in all matters concerning the people.
The People Dwelling Outside Yahushalam
25 And as for the villages with their fields, some of the children of Yahudah dwelt in Kiryath Arba and its villages, Dibun and its villages, Yakabzaal and its villages;
26 in Yashua, Muladah, Bath Palat,
27 Hazar Shual, and Baarshaba and its villages;
28 in Ziklag and Macunah and its villages;
29 in An Rimmun, Zurah, Yarmuth,
30 Zanuah, Adullam, and their villages; in Lachish and its fields; in Azakah and its villages. They dwelt from Baarshaba to the Valley of Hinnum.
31 Also the children of Banyamin from Gaba dwelt in Michmash, Aiya, and Bathal, and their villages;
32 in Anathuth, Nub, Ananyahu;
33 in Hazur, Ramah, Gittaim;
34 in Hadid, Zabum, Naballat;
35 in Lud, Unu, and the Valley of Craftsmen.
36 Some of the Yahudah divisions of Lauym were in Banyamin.
